Peter Herzum

Peter is the group’s founder and President. Known by the industry as a visionary, he has always been at the forefront of pragmatic approaches to software engineering and IT. He pioneered object-oriented approaches in-the-large in the ‘80s, component-based approaches in the ‘90s, and Web Services, service oriented architectures and enterprise architectures since 1999. He is also widely recognized as the creator of modern software factories.
Today, he is helping companies around the world managing IT for business advantage, define IT strategies, launch and improve enterprise architecture efforts, establish agile software factories, and resolve complex development and integration problems.
Peter is the main creator of
COSM Project, the agile approach to large-scale development and integration, and of
COSM
Enterprise, the third-generation enterprise architecture approach.
He is also the principal author of the best-selling book
Business Component
Factory, which has been translated in several languages and adopted by educational institutions curriculums around the world.

Steve Van Noort

Steve van Noort, Chief Operating Officer of
Herzum Software, directs product licensing, sales, marketing, and third-party relationships with customers and vendors.
Prior to joining Herzum Software, Mr. van Noort’s was Vice President of the ASP division of Cyborg Systems, Inc. a leading
provider of human resource software and directly responsible for all ASP revenue.
Mr. van Noort joined Cyborg Systems in 1987 as part of the company’s new United Kingdom operations. During his tenure at Cyborg Systems UK, he helped write and launch the Benefits Administration system. Mr. Van Noort was appointed as Technical Director for Cyborg Systems UK in 1992.
When Cyborg consolidated into a global organization, Mr. van Noort assumed product strategy responsibilities and represented Cyborg at the Object Management Group
(OMG).
Mr. van Noort moved to the USA in 1997 to take up a position as vice president of advanced development using the latest development methodologies
Mr. van Noort holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and statistics from Aston University in Great Britain. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.

Dean Cocallas

Dean Cocallas joined Herzum Software in July, 2007 and is responsible for running the North America business unit. With 25 years in the IT industry, he brings a wealth of experience, professionalism, and leadership to the company.
Before joining Herzum Software, Mr. Cocallas held senior management positions at a diverse group of consulting, software, hardware, and services companies. Having led companies from start-up’s to global conglomerates, Mr. Cocallas has a unique blend of entrepreneurial and disciplined skills.
Previously, Mr. Cocallas held a senior sales position at Capgemini and helped lead the creation of the mid-market SAP practice for North America. Prior to that, he was Vice President & General Manager at Clarent Corporation, where he built and grew a worldwide Channel Sales and Services organization from zero to $60M. Mr. Cocallas subsequently ran 70% of North America for Clarent. Earlier, Mr. Cocallas was Vice President of Consulting at Platinum Technology, where he turned around and grew two consulting practices which included custom application development and software integration. Mr. Cocallas began his career at Unisys Corporation where he we was promoted to lead several senior management level positions.
